Why is this the correct graph for the function
y= x^2 -16 / x+4 ???
Please explain !
Hi!
To better understand, we need to factorize the function. That is,
[tex]\mathsf{y=\frac{x^2-16}{x+4} =\frac{(x-4)(x+4)}{(x+4)}=x-4 }\\ \\ \\ \mathsf{y=x-4}[/tex]
In a 1st degree function the linear coefficient cuts the y-axis. in this case the 4.
Hope this helps, good studios!
