My sister is four years younger than me. The sum of our ages is equal to my age in 10 years. How old am I now?

x=your age
x-4=sister age
x+x-4=x+10
2x-4=x+10 add 4 to both sides
2x=x+14 subtract x from both sides
x=14

You are 14
