The Confederacy was pro slavery, and the Union was not. They were trying to end slavery in America for good. The Union had more money, men and war equipment. They were both considered two different countries considering the Confederacy broke off as its own country.

  • The Union was anti-slavery and the Confederacy was pro-slavery.
  • The Union was wealthier than the Confederacy.

The Union was against slavery which was the main reason why the Confederacy seceded from the United States and formed a new nation.

The Union however had a larger population that the Confederates which led to them having more economic activities and thus being wealthier and more developed than the South.
