They ruled the country from 1996 to 2001 and controlled most of Afghanistan where strict sharia law was used and numerous people were killed because of this or were harmed for life. In 2001 the regime fell and the country went into a period of transition. Before that, during the Taliban reign, they colluded with terrorists and supported various terrorist organizations.
