Parts of Antarctica are considered to be deserts because it is too dry, there's no rainfall because it is too cold and the amount of snow that falls yearly is comparable with the amount of rains that falls in thee driest deserts on the planet, thus the lack of rain and snow makes it a proper desert, cold desert.
Antarctica is so dry that it's considered a desert. Huge ice sheets cover 98% of this frosty continent, Earth's southernmost region. Antarctica is the coldest, iciest, and windiest of Earth's continents. Few plants or animals can live in such a harsh place. But the oceans around the continent are full of life.
