FDR created the New Deal to help combat the Great Depression. With this new deal came new jobs such as construction of new roads, paying artists to paint murals, and giving many people the opportunity to make money. With more people working thanks to government spending on programs, people started to buy more things which helped stimulate the economy and keep it flowing. President Roosevelt realized that the people needed some assistance from the government to keep the country and the economy flowing. I hope this helps :)
