You have to do the parentheses first for each side of the equation.
-2 * (8 / -10) - 5 = 8 (8 / -10) + 3 ==> -2 * -0.8 - 5 = 8 * -0.8 + 3
Now, we do the multiplication of both sides.
-2 * -0.8 - 5 = 8 * -0.8 + 3 ==> -1.2 - 5 = -6.4 + 3
Finally, we do the addition and subtraction on both sides.
-1.2 - 5 = -6.4 + 3 ==> -6.2 = -3.4
-6.2 = -3.4 is false.
