The Japanese governments perspective on the pearl harbor attack was when President Franklin Roosevelt called December 7, 1941, "a date which will live in infamy." On that day, Japanese plans attacked United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii Territory. The bombing killed more than 2,300 Americans. It completely destroyed the American battleship U.S.S.
They saw the destruction of the U.S. navy as a way for them to expand their empire into Southeast Asia, an area heavily patrolled by American ships.
