For this you have a rectangle and a half circle:

Area of a rectangle = Length * Width
Area of a Half Circle = .5 * pi * r(squared)

Length = 20
Width = 16
r = 8

Since 16 is the diameter of the circle we cut it in half for the radius:

[tex]rectangle = 16 \times 20 = 320[/tex]
[tex]half \: circle = .5 \times \pi \times {r}^{2} [/tex]
[tex].5 \times \pi \times {8}^{2} = 100.53[/tex]
Add the results and you get:

420.53
I think the answer is either 320 sq cm. or 5oo sq. cm. But I'm not sure. I got my first answer by multiplying length (16cm) by width (20cm). And with area u have to square your answer. So that's where the "sq" came from. I got my second answer by multiplying length (16 cm) by width (20cm) again and then adding the length of the semi circle to it. (180 bcuz a full circle is 360 then u half it) The answer depends on if the question is asking for the area of the rectangle or the whole thing.
