The persecution of homosexuals in Nazi Germany was based mainly on the premise that homosexuality was incompatible with National Socialist ideology because homosexuals did not reproduce and therefore did not perpetuate the Aryan race. Homosexuality was considered one of the proofs of racial degeneration that was transmitted by vice from one individual to another; for that reason the Nazi authorities had to put all the means at their disposal to avoid their extension.
