If you were a lawyer and Lennie was your client, how would you make your case for his innocence in the killing of Curley's wife? Justify your response with details and examples from the text leading up to the incident, as well as from the incident itself.

lennie was simply playing around as that’s his personality. but he was also very strong and used it accidently sometimes. use parts from the book like when george was talking about how he’s not the brightest but he is strong. or how lennie accidently killed the puppy just trying to play w it.

So I would just like to start off by saying that Lennie has a serious mental disability. He can't remember anything and he fixates on pleasing George in any way shape or form. He is extremely fascinated by soft objects whether it be animal fur or in this situation Curley's wife's hair. She told him he could feel her hair because it was soft and he loved soft things. George did not mean to purposely kill Curley's wife but when his hand got stuck in her hair she freaked out and started screaming. He was just trying to keep her from screaming so he didn't get caught which is when he proceeded to shake her which caused her neck to break. Lennie did not intend to run into Curleys Wife at the barn he was originally in the barn mourning the death of his puppy.
