The answer is an enemy of the state. Crucifixion was a
reserved punishment during the Roman times for pirates, slaves and other enemies
of the state. Jesus was considered to be an enemy of the state, because of his
teachings, which made him look like an enemy, yet his teachings were truer and
brings more emphasis than the Pharisees.
