The church of sainte-madeleine is a Benedictine and Cluniac abbey in Vézelay in the Yonne section in northerly Burgundy, France. Vézelay (former name) mounted at the start of one of the four main routes through France for travelers going to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, in the north-western place of Spain.
