The y-intercept is the vertical line in a graph, the second number in ( , ), amd usually the right hand side in a table.
In a graph:  the y-intercept is the point where the graph crosses the y-axis.

In a table:  the y-intercept is the y value obtained when x = 0.

In an equation (particularly in the form of y = f(x) ), set x = 0 and find y.  Then the y-intercept is (0, y).
