Rene Descartes was a French philosopher, mathematician and scientist. He was born on March 31st, 1696 in Descartes, Indre-et-Loire. He died on February 11th 1650 at the age of 53. He is famous for is quote “I think therefore I am.” Most philosophers backed up their theories with god but he did not. He would back up his theories with simple logic. He believed that most of things that were wrong with the world had to do with us misusing our minds. He wanted to make our minds better so we may think better. He spent alot of his life away from France and in the Dutch Republic. Many people weren’t as smart as him so many government spies would follow him. He moved 24 times to keep ahead of spies and government agents. I hope it helped!!!!
