[tex]\frac{3}{8} + \frac{1}{12} = \frac{3\times 3}{8\times 3} + \frac{1\times 2}{12\times 2} = \frac{9}{24}+ \frac{2}{24}=\frac{9+2}{24} = \boxed{\frac{11}{24}}[/tex]
First u find out the LCM least common multiple
This is 24
3/8 changes to 9/24
To get this you multiply eight by three and three by three

1/12 changes to 2/24
To get this you multiply twelve by two and one by two

Next subtract 9-2 and u will get 7
This will be 7/12 and u cant simplify this
