a- uphold the decisions of the lower courts
b- recommend cases be heard by the Supreme Court
c- overturn the decisions of the district courts
d- remand cases back to lower courts
United States Federal appeal court is also known as the Federal appeal court.
Appellate Jurisdiction has the authority to hear a case appealed from a lower Court.
If an individual has not won his/her case in the District Court, he/she can have the case reviewed by the Appeals Court because it has Appellate Jurisdiction.
At present, there are 13 Courts of appeals in the United States called "Circuits".
