The use of phrases, fragments, and punctuation can affect the pace and mood of a text. How would you describe the pace of the following passage?

"For the most wild, yet most homely narrative which I am about to pen, I neither expect nor solicit belief. Mad indeed would I be to expect it, in a case where my very senses reject their own evidence."

Because punctuation lets the reader know when to pause and take a breath, generally the more broken up a piece is with punctuation, the slower the pace. 
The answer is a slow pace because you can determine by how many commas and periods there are. If they are plenty, then that means they're talking slowly.
