Catalyst is the substance which reduce the activation energy,and decrease the reaction time (that means increase the reaction rate), eventhough it increase the reaction rate it will not undergo any change,at the end of the reaction it will be recovered as usual.
This definition relate to the meaning of catalyst, why because it dissolve all the complication in the reaction and make the reaction quickly and smoothly.
