You are Rahul Saini living in Mumbai. As a concerned citizen of India, write a letter to the editor of a daily, in
100-120 words, highlighting the benefits of the "Right to Education
Act" passed by the parliament recentl
why it should be the duty of every citizen to strengthen the hands of the government
.
Situation: A large number of people in India are illiterate even after six decades
of independence - compulsory education up to fourteen years still remains a
dream- lack of political will.
Problem: An illiterate nation cannot reap the benefits of progress and change.
Poverty, unemployment and exploitation cripples the Indian economy. To
become a truly developed nation, every citizen must be educated.
What we citizens can do: Discourage child labour, motivate children to go
to school, help schools to raise funds to sponsor for the education of the poor
children.
