Selena rides her bicycle to work. It takes her 15 minutes to go 3 miles. If she continues at the same rate, how long will it take her to go 8 miles?

Respuesta :

Since she is going 3 miles per 15 min you basically divide 15 by 3 to find out how many min does it take to get to one mile so you'll get 5 min per mile so 5 times 8 equals 40 in which it takes her 49 minutes
The answer is:  " 40 minutes " .

[tex] \frac{15 min}{ 3 mi} [/tex]  * [tex] \frac{8 mi}{1} [/tex]  ;

= [tex] \frac{5 min}{ 1 mi} [/tex]  * [tex] \frac{8 mi}{1} [/tex] ;

= [tex] \frac{5 min}{ 1 mi} [/tex]  * [tex] \frac{8 mi}{1} [/tex] ;

= [tex] \frac{(5 min)*(8)}{1} [/tex] ;

= [tex] \frac{40 min}{1} [/tex] ;

= 40 min.
