From my interpretation, they're saying the guy was pretty arrogant and rude, and deserved everything that came to him.

Due to the words, "proud and very profane," "more haughty," "condemning the poor people," "cursing them daily," I would assume he is very rude, snobbish, stuck up, arrogant, etc.
