CSL/CCD stands for “Computed Radiography with Storage Phosphor Plate/Coupled Charge Device.” It’s a technology used in digital radiography systems to convert X-rays into an electronic signal for imaging.

In CSL/CCD, X-rays pass through the patient and are absorbed by a phosphor plate. This plate stores the X-ray energy temporarily in the form of trapped electrons. When the plate is scanned with a laser beam, the trapped electrons release their energy as light. The emitted light is then detected by a CCD (Charge-Coupled Device) sensor, which converts it into an electronic signal. This signal is then processed and displayed as a digital image on a computer screen.
