Hi
I am a French student and for English class I have to deliver a speech about inequality at school. Could any English native speaker look at my speech so as to know if it's correct ?
Thank you !

Most of the students in xxx can affirm school life is really enjoyable, and i agree with them, we have such a great teacher team, lots of activities are proposed, we have a lot of equipment, and more.
But unluckily, some people couldn’t enjoy all of it as much as others because of inequalities.
We can talk about inequalities at lunch: the younger who can’t eat whatever they want at the cafeteria, the others who are not allowed to eat outside. Moreover, not having as much money as other students can be a problem to buy the same stuff.
Also, when we are practicing sports, some people are too small to catch the ball when they are playing basketball, or not flexible enough to practice yoga with Mister xxx. Last but not least, not having these little cars to reach you at school can be a problem since you can’t always come at school by your own so you have to start at 8 o clock because of the bus, when others can enjoy an extra 2 hours of sleep to start school at 10.
Of course, when i am talking about it right now it doesn’t sound so dramatic. But for students who are already struggling with mental health issues, it is.
Nowadays, 13% of the 11-15 years old in France present symptoms of anxiety. And same percentage of teenagers have answer « yes » to the question of wanted to end their life in the last 2 weeks.
I would like you to imagine a little boy, or girl, whatever. This person has low self-esteem but wish so much having friends and just being happy. So everyday wake up, thinking about way to talk to others but at school, each time he or she tried to approach someone it’s not possible. At 12 he is not allowed to go outside so can’t eat with his classmates, at basketball he is to small so others don’t want him in their team, he doesn’t have that much money and can't afford to buy nice stuff like lots of people.
So, he/she comes back home, knowing he will never have friends, and doesn’t deserve friends.
So, he/she, who woke up full of ambitions, full of talents, go to bed thinking he doesn’t deserve love.
So, we understand that not having the beautiful bag, couldn’t eat outside with friends at lunch or not being as gifted as our classmates at football can quickly isolate us from others. And i am feeling really concerned about it since I struggled to fit in and find friends a few years ago and have promised to myself to help the ones who struggled to fit in because of inequalities.
That’s why I am standing in front of you today.
I am standing for all the children and teenagers at school who suffer from inequalities.
I am standing for all of them who are losing hope.
To make you realize we can make a change.
Because, as Emma Watson said for HeForShe campaign: If not me, who? if not now, when?
So, what could we do?
I don’t believe in material change, like same uniform for everyone, same school supplies, etc.
Also, we can’t control height or physical abilities.
Actually, I think we have to change our mentality, our way of thinking.
We can encourage everyone to accept each other’s, make them feel integrated. If everyone feels plainly included, inequalities disappear.
So why don’t you eat more with the interns at the cafeteria or the canteen, explain to the small player in basketball he can’t be taller, but faster could be better, and show to the ones who don’t have a lot of money nice low-price shopes or lend them clothes.
All these little changes in order to make them understand they deserve to be loved.
Thank you
