The factors of +2 that can add to be -3 are -1 and -2.
x^2-3x+2=(x-1)(x-2)

To find the factors you set the equation equal to 0:
(x-1)(x-2)=0
x-1=0
You add +1 to both sides
x=1

x-2=0
You add +2 to both sides
x=2
