The Hundred Year's War (HYW), which was actually a series of related conflicts that lasted for well over a hundred years, was a very event that effected almost the whole of western Europe during the late Middle Ages (from the 1330s onward). It was a struggle for supremacy between the two preeminent powers in western Europe (England and France) but also involved many lesser powers (Scotland, the Duchy of Brittany, Castille, etc.).
