The quadratic formula used to solve a quadratic of the form ax^2+bx+c is:
x=(-b±√(b^2-4ac))/(2a) so in this case:
x=(3±√(9+8))/4
x=(3±√17)/4
x=(-b±√(b^2-4ac))/(2a) so in this case:
x=(3±√(9+8))/4
x=(3±√17)/4
(2x - 1)(x - 1) = 0
by the zero property which must be stated!!!!
2x-1=0 or x-1=0
2x=+1 or x = +1
x = 1/2
a= 2 b = -3 c= +1
+3+-√( 9 -4*2*1) / 4
+3+-√ 1/4
3+-1/4 = 1/2 or +1 as we found earlier
