Sexual reproduction is based around genetics and the outcome of your offspring. A disadvantage would be a parent or parents with poor gene (more vulnerable to diseases, poor immune system, hereditary illnesses, or defects in the family line) This continues the weaker gene line to the child, who will then likely pass it on.
