We can say all sentences are incorrect when it comes to punctuation and especially the use of semicolons.

Why are the sentences incorrect?

  • Sentence 1 does not need a semicolon at all. Before the coordinating conjunction "but", the correct punctuation to use is just a comma.
  • The same happens in sentence 2. A comma should be placed before the conjunction "and".
  • Sentence 3 does not have a semicolon, but it also needs a comma before "but".

With the information above in mind, we can say that all three sentences incorrectly use semicolons.
