Why did Stalin declare war on Japan? What are your thoughts on the fact that he did so two days after the United States dropped the bomb on Hiroshima?

Respuesta :

Answer:

The Soviet-Japanese war began on August 9, 1945 with the Soviet invasion of the puppet state of Manchukuo. The Soviets and Mongols put an end to the control and colonization by the Japanese Empire of Manchukuo, Mengjiang (Inner Mongolia), North Korea, South of Sakhalin Island and the Kuril Islands.

The rapid defeat of the Japanese Army was a decisive factor in the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II, together with the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States.

Stalin decided to attack when the Japanese defeat was imminent because of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs. Therefore, it is believed that its involvement in the war with Japan was purely strategic: the Soviet Union attacked Japan to avoid an American predominance over the Far East. One consequence of this situation was the subsequent division of Korea.

Stalin declared war on Japan because they have defeated Germany. The Japan-Soviet war had no correlation with the bomb on Hiroshima.

The Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing happened on August 9, 1945, by the United States. Meanwhile, the Soviet had planned to declare war with Japan for quite some time. The attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki had no major role for the Soviet to declare war on Japan. Stalin said that Soviet would declare war on Japan after German surrendered form the war. German did surrender on August 3, so it was about time that Stalin would declare war on Japan after the surrender of German.

Stalin was not that impressed with the bombing of Japan. He was already planning to declare war on Japan way before knowing the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After German surrendered on August 3, Stalin then informed the Japanese ambassador that the Soviet had declared war on Japan.

On August 9, 1945, Soviets launched their invasion to Japan simultaneously in three ways, which is west, east, and north of Manchuria. That month, Japan experienced a lot of losses. They lost a massive army, civilian, military, and all the losses at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
