An airplane flies 105 miles in 1/2 hour. How far can it fly in 1 1/4 hours at the same rate of speed?

105/2=52.5 for a quarter hour 

so add the two together 210+52.5= 262.5

so the answer is 262.5 miles

3.75 miles per minute. 
1 1/4 is 75 minutes.
75 x 3.75 = 262.5
