Folding. The Appalachians of eastern North America are a prime example of folded mountains. Instead of simply matching terms to a diagram as you just did for faulted landforms, in the space below draw a single cross-section of the earth's crust illustrating several key folded landforms. Draw and label at least one syncline, one anticline, and one monocline. Be sure to shade in different layers indicating different rock strata (similar to the example on the previous page).
