When an electric current passes through the body, a physiological reaction occur in the body which causes electrical shock. Physical contact of a person with any electrical source is the main cause of electrical shock.
The impact of electrical shock depends on the magnitude of the current which passes through the human body. If small current passes through the body, it produces a light sensation of tingle.

Voltage accelerates electrons to flow or we can say voltage is the power supply to flow the charge.
Let’s take an example current is flowing through a high-tension wire so it is mandatory to have a potential difference between the two ends of a wire.
The direction of current flow in the wire will be from high voltage to low voltage just like other physical quantities.
For example heat flows from high temperature to low temperature and water flows from high mechanical energy to low mechanical energy. Now see what happens when a person touches the wire carrying current. There will be a potential in the wire at the point of contact but the feet of the human are at zero potential because feet of man touches the ground directly or indirectly and the potential of the earth is taken as zero.
Therefore, a voltage difference creates between two points of the body. So current will enter the body at the point of body which is at high potential and leaves through another point which is at ground.
