What is meant by civic nationalism?

The term civic nationalism is used politically to refer to the type of nationalism that has to do with the identification of of the philosophers that are in agreement with the principles of nationalism that is deep rooted in freedom, rights, liberalism, tolerance and the respect for te rights of people. This is the type of principle that has no place for ethnocentrism.

Hence we can say that Civic nationalism:
