Explanation:
1. What similarities do you see in current-day medicine and medicine in ancient times?
Although there aren’t many similarities between ancient and modern day medical practices, there are a few. One thing that we still use current-day is acupuncture. The ancient Chinese used acupuncture thousands of years ago to relieve pain, cure disease, and improve general health. Today we also use acupuncture for many similar reasons that help get rid of pain and discomfort. Another thing is having physicians and specialists in specific fields of work and study, which is what our modern doctors and scientists do.
2. What differences do you see in current-day medicine and medicine in ancient times?
Medicine has changed so much over years as our technology has changed. In current-day our doctors can tell what disease or illness we have, however, in ancient times they didn’t have a way to specifically know. This being is that for example, the egyptians believed illnesses were curses from the gods. One of the major differences from ancient medicine to modern medicine is the uses of technology. Technology is so importants because we can now take x-rays and monitor our hearts, computers have also helped us figure more about different diseases.
3. From each culture, what would you describe as the two most important contributions to modern medicine?
Mesopotamian Contributions:
Mesopotamian medical practices had a large impact on modern medicine. The largest impact was the concept of diagnostics, prognosis, and physical examinations.
Egyptian Contributions:
The egyptians had a lot influence on modern medicine. Something that had a great impact and stuck around until today was medical institutions, which had the largest impact on modern-day medicine.
4. From each culture, what two practices did you find to be the most interesting? Why?
Greece:
In our time we know how all illnesses will start and end. But in Greece, they believed that their gods did everything, and it makes a very interesting topic because of how unique their aspects were. To me this had the most interesting medical practices because I remember reading all sorts of books about greek gods and stories when i was younger
Mesopotamia:
Something I thought was very interesting about their practices is that they used the code of Hammurabi. This set the laws on medical treatment and surgeries.
5. If you were living in each culture, what role could you play or what would you want to contribute to health care during this time?
China:
If I was in ancient China then I would want to make herbal remedies. Or some sort of herbal drink like tea that could cure simple things like head and belly aches.
Egypt:
In ancient Egypt I would like to contribute to healthcare by creating medical recipes that could heal people. I would also want to make different objects and things like drinks, oils, scents, etc. These would help if you feel sick.

This was done by the ancient Chinese and is still in use today. Also, just like we've scientists and doctors, there were specialists in the olden days.
