In some cultures, people view altered states of consciousness as something to be avoided when ever possible, not something to be sought out. Why do you think some people feel this way ?
States of consciousness are so unstudied and so unknown. There’s a huge fear of the unknown which can then intel a fear of the different states of consciousness.
