Answer: The angle of incoming sunlight varies at different places.
The earth being spherical in shape and different locations of earth receives different amount of energy from sun. Near the equator the earth receives maximum sunlight energy. The latitudes farther from the equator the rays from the sun strikes the earth at low angle, causing the same amount of energy to be distributed over a large area. Therefore, these regions exhibit cooler temperature as they receive low sunlight and regions near the equator are comparitively warmer.
Hence, the phenomena of uneven heating of the earth is because of angle of incoming sunlight, which varies at different places. Â
