Why is Sufism unique?
Sufism is a mystical and ascetic approach to Islam. Sufists' goal focuses on the individual's connection to God. Sufists attempt to experience the divine instead of following what the teachings of scholars have established. One of the most known practices of Sufism is the Sufi whirling in which practitioners or semazens swirl until achieving a trance state to connect with God.
