So

So,

total sugar he has to use in making full recipe is

[tex]2 \ \frac{1}{4} [/tex]

But he is only making

[tex] \frac{2}{3} [/tex]

of recipe

So we have to 'minus' this.

So as u see in the above picture"sry for bad handwriting'' when we subtract we get an improper fraction and then we convert it to mixed fraction...

So the answer is

[tex]1 \ \frac{7}{12 \:} of \: sugar[/tex]
