During the Philippine resurrection, the 'rebels' choose to gain independence from US rule since they see that being in United States' control create a lot of economic disadvantage for the people of Philippines.

The Rebels initiated 9 military campaigns in order to break free from US government. But in the end, the united states military was too strong for the Rebels. they fail to gain independence and they had to face more than 200,000 casualties on their side.

The goal of the Philippine insurrection was to gain independence from US rule.

The Philippines was annexed by the United States as per its policy of New Imperialism in 1893 through the “Treaty of Paris” from Spain. US always aimed at spreading its political and cultural extent. Depending upon the condition it annexed them either by Military conquest or through Gunboat democracy.
