Energy from sunlight is being used in an indirect way for walking the dog. Plants photosynthesize in which they absorb energy from sun and convert it into chemical energy, which is stored in organic product formed as a result of photosynthesis. When this organic compound is consumed by us, we use the chemical energy stored in that food to mechanical energy for walking the dog. Hence, the energy to walk the dog comes from sunlight.

When you are out in the open and are walking your dog the energy available to you in the form of light and heat energy from the sun and helps in converting the glucose and the release of energy for doing work.

  • Hence the sun gives glucose for the release of the ATP. Thus sunlight gives the power to perform the activity. Such as heat energy is needed to warm or dry cloths.
