Answer

Find the degree measure of arc HJ.

To prove

By using the formula

[tex]Angle\ formed\ outside = \frac{1}{2} (Difference\ of\ intercepted\ arcs)[/tex]

i.e

[tex]\angle HOJ =\frac{1}{2}(98^{\circ} - measure\ of\ arc\ HJ. )[/tex]

As ∠HOJ = 27°

Put in the above equation

[tex]27^{\circ}=\frac{1}{2}(98^{\circ} - measure\ of\ arc\ HJ. )[/tex]

27° × 2 =  98° - measure of arc HJ

54° = 98° - measure of arc HJ.

measure of arc HJ = 98° - 54°

measure of arc HJ = 44°

Therefore the option (C) is correct.
