In golf, you want the lowest score possible, because it means it took you less tries to get the golf ball into the hole. If Jillian's mean was 2.4 (which is less then 3.3, Dawn's mean), this means on average she had less attempts at getting the ball into the hole, and therefore she is the winner. :)
