The correct answer to this open question is the following.
One accomplishment of the national government under the Articles of Confederation was the creation of the Departments of the Treasury, War, Marine, Foreign Affairs. Under the Articles of Confederation, the central government reached an agreement with Great Britain to sign the Treaty of Paris in 1783 to formally ended the Revolutionary war of independence.
However, the Articles had many issues and disadvantages. The central government in the form of a Congress could not coin money. The states could. And the Articles never considered a judicial system to settle citizens' legal issues.
Thanks to the Articles of Confederation, the federal Congress was able to galvanize national resources to win the American Revolution.
The Articles of Confederation gave the federal Congress enough power that it was able to:
- Combine the resources of the various colonies into a cohesive force that defeated the British
- Negotiate the surrender of the British thereby making American independence a possibility
Even though the Articles of Confederation tried to ensure that the national government did not have much power, it still gave the government enough that it was able to ensure American victory in the American Revolution.
We can therefore conclude that the American victory at the American Revolution was an accomplishment of the Articles of Confederation.
