Well, for children using a calm voice or bribing usually work though most people think yelling works, it does not it scares them and makes them think they will get hurt if they answer truthfully.

For adults or even teen's if you stare at them without saying anything they will get awkward and answer or show that your worried and that you wont stop until you get what you want aka intimidate them.

For people with disabilities, these people often feel hurt because they have specialties so making them comfortable and getting them to feel like they fit in around you should work.
