Communication is the sharing of information from one person to another using a medium. This medium can either be:

Post office
Electronic mail
Through use of letters
Loudspeakers, etc.

For communication to be effective, there needs to exist feedback, in order to ensure that the communication is not one-sided as this hinders effective communication.

Some of the functions of communication that a student would already have known would include:

To persuade
To educate.
