1. Write a brief story about how you met a good friend. Your story should be eight complete sentences. Follow the directions for each part carefully. Be careful to use the imperfect to set up the scene, the preterite to say what happened, and use at least three connecting phrases from the lesson to make the story flow. (32 points; 4 points per sentence)

2. This written activity will cover newspaper and magazine vocabulary, past participles used as adjectives, ser and estar with adjective meaning changes, and telling a story with connecting phrases. Follow the directions carefully for each of the four parts. You should write 15 complete sentences in all. (60 points)

III. Write one set of three sentences, using two different adjectives, to demonstrate your understanding of how ser and estar can change the meaning of an adjective. You will write a total of three sentences. Your sentences do not need to be related to one another, but they should show your understanding of the adjective's meaning when used with each verb. For example:
Ser: La película es entretenida. Me gustó mucho.
Estar: Los niños están entretenidos cuando el tío les visita.
