A hypothesis theory and a scientific law are starkly different terms. A hypothesis is at a stage where it is tested in a way that either proves it right or wrong. In the case that it is proved right, it goes on further to be replicated by a several other groups of scientists. If the results/conclusions come out to be correct again, it is known as scientific theory - a more detailed explanation for some phenomenon. Further on, this theory will achieve the status of a scientific law when it has been studied in sufficient detail to give a unifying concept about the phenomenon.
