The United States did the right thing in helping Germany recover from World War II based on the causes of WWII which included:

  • Nazi governments taking over Germany.
  • Economic woes in Germany increasing support for authoritarianism.
  • Resentment in Germany over being made to suffer after losing WWI.

Why was the U.S. right to help Germany recover?

If the U.S. government had not helped Germany to recover, they might have fallen victim to another authoritarian government like the Nazis as a result of economic problems.

This new government would then cause incidents that might lead to renewed war.

Also, helping Germany reduced resentment in Germany from losing WWII which was a huge factor in WWII being started in the first place as many Germans were bitter from their losses in WWI.
