Select the correct inequality for the graph below. A solid line passing through points (1, 2) and (2, 5) has shading below. y < 3x - 1. y ≤ 3x - 1. y ≥ 3x - 1. y > 3x - 1

Respuesta :

I think you forgot to attach the graph along with the question. Based on my research and knowledge, i am answering the question. "y ≤ 3x - 1" is actually the correct choice. The correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the second choice. I hope that this answer has come to your help.
We are given with the points  (1, 2) and (2, 5). We get the slope of the line from the two points. Hence, (5-2)/ (2-1), slope is equal to 3. Substituting in y-y1 = m(x-x1) where m is the slope, the equation becomes y - 2 = 3 (x-1). When simplified and considering the shading below the graph, the equation is y ≤ 3 x -1.
